The Arts Center of the Capital Region has created a professional development program, generously funded by the KeyBank Foundation, for local artists in any discipline or genre including but not limited to visual arts, performing arts, crafts, and design. The Nuts, Bolts + Beyond program will take place over a 7-month period from mid-November 2017 through May 2018. Throughout the course, artists will gain the tools to advance economic self-sufficiency and build a sustainable arts career in an entrepreneurial environment.
Nuts, Bolts & Beyond will be a transformational program to develop the skills needed to establish, operate, and strategically manage an art practice. This program asks artists to deeply examine their individual life-paths and career goals, incorporating the nuts-and-bolts business principles necessary to achieve those goals. Through professional development seminars, skills-based workshops and networking opportunities, artists will learn to identify patrons and mentors and choose the best business practices to enhance effectiveness and visibility in their chosen field. These trainings/seminars are free of charge and tailored to the unique needs and disciplines of the selected artists. Classes will be held one day/evening a week at the Arts Center starting in November. Scheduling will be defined based on the selected group and their availability.

- MUST NOT be enrolled in a college or university. Proof of residency (driver's license, passport, or voter registration) must be submitted if selected.
