We want your protest posters! Any
and all will be exhibited at The Arts Center of the Capital Region --- even the Nasty ones!!
The Feminist Art Project of Upstate NY is organizing a group exhibition that serves to demonstrate solidarity among artists who identify with being a Nasty Woman in the face of threats to roll back women’s rights, individual rights, and abortion rights. It will also serve as a fundraiser to support The Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood during this uncertain time. 100% of sales from artwork will be donated to our local Planned Parenthood.
We are excited to have Angel Bellaran as Guest Curator for this event. Bellaran was the Curator for "the original" Nasty Women NYC show at the Knockdown Center in Queens.
The Nasty Women of the North event will take place at two locations in downtown Troy, New York: The Arts Center of the Capital Region and Collar Works. All visual art will be exhibited at Collar Works with a public opening on Friday, October 27 from 5-9 pm.
This event is organized by Madison LaVallee and Claire Sherwood, co-coordinators of The Femistint Art Project: Upstate New York. Contact them at Nastywomenofthenorth@gmail.com with any questions.
